  • When Is the next 6-month full-spectrum doula training?
We offer two virtual cohorts per year- one in the spring and one in the fall-with dates announced on a rolling basis. We also hold in-person, region-specific trainings throughout the year based on interest and community needs. As of now, applications for the next virtual cohort are not yet open, and dates have not been set. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter to receive notifications when training dates are announced.
  • Do you have scholarships?
Yes, scholarships are available for those who have a financial need AND are interested in becoming active doulas. Please note that depending on the specific training, additional requirements may apply. For more details, refer to the training application.
  • Do you have sliding scale options?
Yes, for those who have indicated financial need and it's based off the green jar scale. The scale can be found here: https://embracingequity.org/blog/2018/11/29/embracing-an-equitable-sliding-scale
  • Do you provide translation services?
Yes, we have translation services available. If you have a language need, please inform us during the application process so we can ensure an interpreter is available.
  • Is the training recorded?
No, classes are not recorded and full attendance is required!
  • Why an NDA?
For us, it is an intentional decision to utilize the tools available to us to keep those in attendance as safe and confidential as possible, especially at a time when reproductive health, access, and pregnancy outcomes, including abortion, are highly criminalized and where we have attendees throughout the world including in places that have more restrictions. It is also to keep our presenters’ knowledge, stories, and content safe from appropriation, commodification, and replication. While we make a lot of efforts to build out our cohorts of attendees, we also recognize that on rare occasions, folks come to this training with intentions that may not align with these values, which also helps to weed those folks out. We unapologetically value the labor, knowledge, and stories of BIPOC and want to do our part to keep that as protected as possible. If you have any questions about the NDA, we are happy to answer. Note: Many trainings do not have this requirement and if you feel this is not in alignment, we happily encourage you to choose a training that fits what feels good for you.
