Karen is a Queer, Central American born, herbalist, proud single momma, eco-feminist, reproductive justice advocate, birthworker and Lactation Educator. After the birth of her daughter in 2017, Karen found her calling in supporting other pregnant and birthing communities to have access to their human rights which is the right to choose an empowered pregnancy and birth!  In 2018 she attended her first doula training by the Non-profit organization- Birthworkers of Color based in Long Beach. Since then she has trained with several Black, Indigenous, leaders, midwives, doulas of color that specialize in traditional holistic care for birthing folks. She has been certified, a Lactation Education Specialist by Breastfeed LA. She was trained by the beautiful student midwive- Sarah Ferguson on the practice of Placenta Encapsulation. She firmly believes in following parents intuition and innate knowledge on self care needs.
