Bio
Jasmin Olvera- Dena, also known as Itzpapalotl (Obsidian Butterfly in Nahuatl) is a Certified Massage Therapist, Full-Spectrum Doula, and the founder of Oxomohco Birth & Body Work, a collective of skilled birth workers and bodyworkers serving families across Santa Clara County.
Rooted in Mexican Traditional Medicine and Indigenous healing practices, Jasmin’s work is deeply influenced by her ancestral heritage and upbringing in a large family rich with birth stories. She began her birth work journey as a volunteer doula at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in 2019, an experience that affirmed her calling to provide holistic, culturally centered care. In 2020, she established Oxomohco (oh-sho-mo-ko) as a dedicated space for supporting families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss.
With ancestral roots in Jalisco, Jasmin proudly honors her Wixárika (Huichol) lineage. Her lifelong practice of traditional Anahuac danza and ceremony informs her approach to healing, ensuring that care is guided by culture, connection, and respect for the body’s innate wisdom. She has walked the Red Road for most of her life, carrying these teachings into her practice and leadership.
Jasmin studied Business Administration at Heald College and Massage Therapy at Carrington College. Today, she leads a dedicated team of practitioners at Oxomohco, ensuring that families receive comprehensive, compassionate, trauma- informed and culturally relevant care. Together, the Oxomohco team offers a range of services, from therapeutic bodywork to birth and postpartum support, always prioritizing the well-being and empowerment of the families they serve.
At Oxomohco, we believe in community, knowledge, and care that nurtures families at every stage. We look forward to welcoming you into our space.
