Bio

Cynthia (she/they) is an Afro-Indigenous queer Boricua, born and raised in the occupied lands of Borikén (also known as Puerto Rico). She is an anti-racist and reproductive justice activist, community facilitator, researcher, and full-spectrum doula. Cynthia graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, in May 2018. In 2023, Cynthia obtained a Diplomado en Género y Políticas de Igualdad (Gender and Equality Policies) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, further cementing her commitment to justice and the dismantling of oppressive systems. As a doula, she believes in the power of compassionate, trauma-informed, loving, and nonjudgmental support. Cynthia approaches birthwork as a reclamation of ancestral Indigenous wisdom, honoring the science of trusting our bodies and each other. She centers her work on bodily autonomy, dignity, and radical tenderness, ensuring that every person she supports feels empowered in their choices and joyfully centered throughout their journey. Her approach is deeply rooted in transfeminism, accessibility, and healing justice, recognizing that access to reproductive healthcare is not just a personal issue but a systemic one. Cynthia finds inspiration in hugs, sunsets, the healing power of nature, her plant babies, and the singing of coquís.
