Bio

CJ Calica (she/they) is a multidisciplinary creative, community organizer, and abortion doula dedicated to storytelling, healing, and justice. As a Filipino American and second-generation immigrant, CJ’s work explores themes of memory, identity, and cultural reclamation through photography, textiles, weaving, and wheat pasting. Trained as an abortion doula with Birthworkers of Color, CJ provides compassionate, culturally competent care and support. She volunteers with Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley, where she first shared her own abortion story publicly at their Abortion Out Loud event, an experience that deepened her commitment to reproductive justice and the power of collective storytelling.
