Our Story

June 2024 marks seven years since we launched our first doula of color training. What started as a local community grassroots project in Long Beach, CA has blossomed into a non-profit organization with members across the globe.

Proud Moments

Hosted 17 full spectrum doula of color training cohorts
over 450 doulas of color trained from Long Beach to Guam
Grown from volunteer-run to seven BWOCC team members
Hosted five abortion doula trainings since Roe overturned
Approved Medicaid/Medi-Cal doula training in California, Michigan, Maryland, with more states coming soon.
